Self-Portrait, 2020

This is a self-portrait of myself made using p5.js. The caliugraphy cahracter on my face is my last name yet it represents display lowkey. In asian families, we usually have something to try to prove due to the pressure they exert on the children. This is usually the case when the parents have a strong desire for the children to be successful in the future either due to honor or love. Many of us "display" what they want to see and lose a sense of self in a way. For a while, this was me before I began to want to carve my own future and make my own decisions.
